Check out this link.  There are some nice stories here about how home automation can change peoples lives for the better.

A bit of trumpet blowing

I make no apologies for posting the following appraisal we received from a client recently.  We did a lot of hours on this project to get it working properly, and references like this make it all worthwhile.  This was the client with the 200gb+ music library we blogged about earlier this year.

"After we bought a house in Notting Hill, London we decided to do some major interior renovations.  As part of the project we wanted to install a comprehensive system that could handle the use and distribution throughout the house of a large video and music library (and add connectivity).  We approached and researched a few different companies, and decided to hire one that had been recommended and advertised at a large department store in Chelsea.  After various conversations with the engineers from this company, we decided to use a system called Control 4 and add compatibility with iTunes and Apple TVs in order to handle the music and video libraries.  We also decided to install a separate high end music system in the library, where I could independently play my CD collection.

After a few months of work with this company, it was clear that the project was above their expertise.  The installation was a mess.  The interfaces were very slow, there was no connectivity with iTunes, Control 4 was simply not working (they had installed old software and had messed up the programming), the apple TVs never worked, etc.  The company went bust, and I found myself in a very complicated situation.

As this company was being liquidated, the previous owner tried to "help out" and basically contacted Control 4 directly to send someone else to sort it out.  This is how I met Limelight Automation.  From the first day, I knew that these guys were serious, courteous, honest, and BRIGHT.  Adam and Sam spent hours and hours trying to sort out the mess that was left behind, and I have to say that after a few weeks of very hard work, the system in my house is seamless.  They have deep knowledge of Control 4, its interactions to iTunes, to Sonos (we ended up using a Sonos system that connects to Control 4, as the music interface for Control 4 is a bit slow for very very large libraries), to blue ray DVD players, to iPads, etc.  Limelight's work was outstanding as their engineers have a deep knowledge of everything that is currently in the market.
They also keep you updated on the latest developments that there may be.  They were able to sort out Control 4, iTunes (and the complicated interfaces that it has), Apple TVs, DVD players, speakers, interference issues, Sonos, hardware issues (they recommended things that needed to be changed).  On top of that, I found their pricing to be very reasonable.

In any case, I know that Limelight will continue to have satisfied customers as myself, simply because I know these guys take real pride in what they do."
